I wonder (just wonder, not even trying to offer a workaround), if someone with native Amadeus access could then add the FF number using the FFN entry

That would only give you automatic benefits while flying. Ineligible fares and discounts will not accrue.
You can add an FQTV to employee standby bookings.
I had my SE on a 100% off booking (C class), and didn't earn anything.
Adding a number and earning points are basically orthogonal.

I was going to ask if there was any way to do that and still earn SQMs. I guess I got my answer.

If it's not employee specific, why would that be a problem? Is the 20% off code for all markets restricted to certain AC positions?

Air Canada employee discount and status earnings
Has anyone used an AC employee discount code when purchasing a fare? Were you able to get credited with the status earnings on Aeroplan? How about on to United Mileage Plus?
I'm looking at premium economy fare USA-YUL-Europe and return.

My own experience was before Amadeus - no status, no points/mileage accrual and couldn't use any status during the trip (no priority boarding, check-in, etc.)

From what I understand, you'll get the status earnings. It's simply a promo code discount similar to the ones they offer for certain destinations during promotional periods.

The 10% off codes are fine. Anything more than that has no mileage accrual.

I believe in most cases that would be incorrect. Read the fine print on the discount code to make sure, most employee discounts > 10% accrue nothing.

This is from the program and details section of the employee promo code program that allows issue of promo codes from 10-25% off depending on relationship to employee and destination.
- This program is considered a revenue program with applicable retail fare rules as well as normal customer handling policies in case of irregular operations.
- Aeroplan points accumulation is permitted.
- SQM, SQS and SQD accumulation is permitted.

So it looks crediting to Aeroplan is possible. I'm looking to credit to United MileagePlus. I'm looking specifically to book LAX-YUL-ATH-YYZ-LAX.

does anyone know specifically what the discount type/category it is that I want? I'm told there's a Family discount and a Friend discount. My sister is not the most tech savvy person and not sure if her eyes can make out the fine print.

This page (based on Google) seems to explain the program:
https://res.aircanada.ca/ntpconv/act...nDispatcher.do
Note that there are some serious consequences for misuse for your colleague who issues it:
- This program is for personal leisure use only. It is prohibited to sell or trade the discount codes or otherwise use them for personal or commercial gain... Violation of the GO AC Family Travel Program will result in the suspension of travel privileges and may entail the repayment of the value of any gain, among other administrative penalties. Violations are also subject to discipline, up to and including discharge, in addition to any other recourse the company may have.

I have received miles&smiles miles with TK using these codes. I would assume they would also be useful on United MP?

Has anyone used a GO AC code recently. I have a few GO AC codes that are 15% off and wondering with Amadeus whether theyll post SQS and SQM. When I go to book it allows me to add my aeroplan, but I understand that doesnt necessarily mean anything. The terms on the email with the codes say:These are all considered revenue programs with applicable retail fare rules and normal customer handling policies in case of irregular operations.
